Nine

The best part of my day today was when I came home from work, put on some Christmas music and decorated my mini Christmas tree.

It's New York sized for my apartment's convenience.

Eight

One of my goals when starting this blog was to update somewhat consistently. Not Several times a day like some people do, but at least a couple times a week. Clearly, I've failed with this goal since it's now been awhile since my last update. I apologize to the two readers I think I have.

This past weekend, incase you didn't know, was Black Friday. And if you work in any form of retail, like I do, it was torture. While it may be one of the busiest and biggest money making days of the year for small and large businesses working in the stores is tough. Long lines, messy stores, and while black Friday is considered to be the kick off of the holiday shopping season not one person I dealt with had any holiday spirit.

Even if I hadn't worked a 13 hour shift managing my store, you would NOT have seen me waiting on any lines. Working in retail, it's my opinion that unless you're buying large electronics you're not getting that great of a deal, or any fabulous sales that you wouldn't see any other time of the year. Now like I said there are amazing sales on electronics and large appliences. The line for Sears was down the street at 3 am. A friend of mine got a washer, dryer, and dishwasher for under $900. I think that's a great deal.

So if you braved the lines I'm not sure whether to laugh at you or applaud your bravery.

Now, I'm excited for CyberMonday. Twitter is all a tweet right now about some of the deals that are starting tomorrow. I already got some great deals on amazon.com on some DVDs. One thing I've learned about amazon in the past months is that prices change really fast, so if you see a great deal you have to just go for it! I bought True Blood Season 1 for just $12 on Saturday. On Sunday the price had already gone up to $14.99. Okay, still a great deal. But, I was surprised to see how fast the price changed!!

ChaCha is a great website that tells you some stores and websites participating in CyberMonday. You can follow them on twitter @ChaCha I'm sure they'll be tweeting tonight and tomorrow about some great deals. Also you can click HERE for their link the CyberMonday guide.

I'm sure @NYCShopGuide will also tweet some great CyberMonday deals. I know I can always count on them to post sales and discount codes.

So those are my CyberMonday tips. Take advantage of them! You don't have to deal with lines or grouchy people. You can enjoy a glass of wine while you shop. Now that's my type of shopping experience.
